When the ruggedly beautiful Bothnian Bay freezes over, it's time to pack the sleigh full of eager pike fishermen and head out to try some nice relaxed fishing with the ismete technique.
On our ice fishing trip, you can try out the effective ismete spotting technique, where hooks are baited with baitfish and the target is pike and big perch. If you wish, you can set the hooks under the ice yourself. While you wait for the big fish, we'll also build a fire in the mobile fire pit to warm you up and roast some snacks. If the signal flag goes up, you'll have to hurry to hook the strong pike.
You will be transported to the fishing spots by snowmobile and sleigh. Reindeer skins on benches keep fishermen warm on the transitions. If you're observant, you may see a white-tailed eagle soaring overhead during a day of fishing, and migratory birds in abundance in spring.
On the trip, you will experience first-hand the winter in the North Sea: the weather often changes dramatically even during the day. There may be a lot of snow on the ice, or none at all, and temperatures vary. Always dress warmly enough. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the sun peeking over the horizon and a spectacular sunset, or in spring you may be fishing in the warm sunshine.

Prices from 75€/person, children 4-13 years 40€, under 4 years free. Minimum booking 300€.
The price includes a ride on a sleigh and snowmobile, helmets and helmet masks, reindeer skins for the seats, fishing equipment and guide, safety equipment and local permits.
Lunch, soup, bread and drink are 20€/person or snack 12€/person (campfire sausage, hot drink) for an additional fee. Winter overalls and waterproof winter boots 15€/person.
OTHER THINGS:
If the ice conditions are bad, the excursion will be cancelled.
Please dress very warmly in layers and windproof clothing. Wear several pairs of socks. Sunglasses are recommended on clear days. Special attention should be paid to children's clothing.
The product is available for sale by prior arrangement for any day and time. Available depending on ice conditions from December to April.
Departure point in Ii is either at Pauhu in Northern Ii on Partalahdentie, where there is a car park, or at the marina in Ii Alaranta, where there is also a car park. Iisland cottage customers will be picked up from the cottage yard.
Difficulty: light, but conditions can be very cold in places.
Cancellation and payment conditions. Cancellation 14 days before departure free of charge. 7-13 days before cancellation, reservation fee will be retained. Cancellations later than this will be charged in full. Payment by invoice or payment card in advance.
